Fight CPS Message Board Tour
Have you registered at the Fight CPS message board yet? If so, you’ve probably already seen everything I’m about to show you. If not, this video gives a preview of the message board. There’s lots of information stored in those message threads, and plenty of room for more.
If you’re new try leaving a message in the “newcomers” area. If you’re currently being investigated by CPS, you can post in the “CPS investigations” area. If your case is long-closed but you now want to do something to change the system, or to help others, there are opportunities to do it at the message board.
YouTube! I’m giving it a try! This is my first video. I apologize that due to stage fright I had to write everything and then read it. I plan to make more YouTube videos about things on this site and whatever else comes up.
TRANSCRIPT – For those who have trouble watching videos online.
Hi, this is Linda at FightCPS.Com
If you’re looking for help with a CPS case, or if you’re looking for a way to help others, at FightCPS there’s a message board you may find helpful.
The message board is semi-private, as it is not indexed by Google or other search engine technologies. That means you won’t find our messages in search engine results. This is for the privacy of those who use the message board.
The message board usually isn’t visible to anyone who isn’t registered and logged in, but right now, I’m giving you a preview tour.
In the first category, Networking, you’ll find announcements. There are sections for newcomers and people needing feedback on CPS investigations they’re going through. These are the most heavily used areas of the message board.
The Round Table is for anything that might be off-topic in other areas.
We have a section for websites, so if you have your own CPS-related site and want to let people know about it, this would be a place where your site information would be welcome. Or if you want to tell people about another site you found helpful, go ahead and put a message here.
There’s a section for people whose CPS cases are based on medical issues. In this section you’ll find messages about CPS referrals made by physicians, antibiotics, spiral fractures, psychological evaluations, disabled parents, drug testing, autism, and much more.
One of the newest sections of the board is about recovery from CPS-inflicted trauma. How does one recover from trauma and PTSD? This area is for people who have been attacked by CPS and are having a hard time getting over it. That includes almost all of us. The trauma we’ve gone through is severe, and we need to talk about it. This section was requested by one of the participants of the message board.
Next there’s a spiritual section, ‘Have Faith and Be Strong’. I believe that a strong faith can help get you through the trauma of CPS attacks on your family. That said, FightCPS is more a secular site than religious. The site is not affiliated with any particular religion or political party. All are welcome and that includes those who are not believers.
The next section is also new. It is for grandparents. There are other sites on the internet that address the needs of grandparents, such as Grands Place – but we do have a section here and there are many grandparents using the message board.
The next section focuses on child welfare social workers and caseworkers. Of course most of these people have no formal social work degrees so it is deceptive to call them social workers just because they work for CPS agencies.
The Happy Endings section of the board is uplifting. Lots of children go home to their families and of course we hope your children will soon be among them. If you have a happy ending, we want to hear about it!
The last part of the networking category is for suggestions.
Next we have a category for activists, with topics such as: The Campaign to Re-Educate the Public, Ideas for Activists, Media Issues, Surveillance, and Writing.
For researchers we offer sections on Statistics, The History of Child Protection, Research Resources, and information on Psychiatry and Medications. You can see how much these sections have been used, and I would like to have more available in the Statistics section, especially. I could do the numbers myself but my time is limited by other work I do for this site.
Legal Self-Help is the title of the next Category on the board. We have sections on Juvenile Court, Legal Research, How to Sue CPS, Legal Documents, Temporary Guardianship, and Judicial Opinions. A lot more work could be done to add to or organize this section of the board. If anyone wants to take on that job, let me know!
The next category is about federal government: Legislative, Executive, Judicial, Resources, and Articles.
After that there’s a category for the United States… each state has it’s own message section and this could be a good place to discuss your state laws and regulations with others who live near you. There’s also a section for people in the military.
The final category on the board is for people in other countries. This board, and the entire FightCPS site, is United States based, but people in other countries deal with similar child welfare agencies, and they’re always welcome to make use of this message board to find and network with one another.
As for who can use the FightCPS message board – I allow anyone to register though I make a big effort to eliminate spammers. I use constant vigilance on that now because in the past we have had spam problems. Most of the people who register and use the board are victims or former victims of CPS agents.
A few attorneys have registered and occasionally visit the message board, but they aren’t there to offer legal advice. All the suggestions on the board are to be considered simply as feedback from others who have some experience dealing with CPS. None of it is formal legal advice.
There are occasionally visits from CPS social workers or foster parents. Most of them are friendly and they try to help. They are welcome to participate so long as the interactions stay friendly and informative. There have been times when someone stepped over the line and started insulting victims of CPS. Of course I don’t allow that, and have to ban those who aren’t friendly. The FightCPS website is there to give comfort, information and support, and I don’t want anyone to be attacked. The message board is usually a safe and sane place to get help, and we want to keep it that way.
There’s one other thing I don’t allow on the message board. I don’t allow rants that suggest illegal activities such as violence toward social workers or custodial interference. We all know how you feel, but please don’t think this message board can be used as a platform to express these kinds of ideas. FightCPS helps people fight back using legal means, such as writing legal documents to present to the juvenile court referee or judge.
I don’t recommend taking the children back by force or running away to hide them. The life of a fugitive is difficult and most people who do that get caught. If you’re in jail you won’t be available to try to get your child released from state custody… so I always advise legal actions only.
So, that’s an inside view of the FightCPS message board. If you believe you can find help, or provide help there, you’re very welcome to join us in our efforts to fight CPS and win.
